Խոր Վիրապ – the Armenian Monaster of Khor Virap with Արարատ – Mount Ararat

Խոր Վիրապ – the Armenian Monastery of Khor Virap with Արարատ – Mount Ararat.
For the 13 or 14 years ending in 301 Anno Domini, a dungeon underground pit was the home to the Patron Saint of Armenia,
Saint Gregory the Illuminator of Armenia (* c. 257, or as early as 240 – c. 331 †).
As with most such places, it was built and rebuilt many times over the centuries, with the first chapel built at the
site in honor of Saint Gregory in 642 Anno Domini on the orders of Catholicos Nerses III the Builder–ՆերսեսԳՇինող

But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided; the fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained, and the waters receded from the earth continually. At the end of a hundred and fifty days the waters had abated; and in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest upon the mountains of Ararat.
    Genesis 8:1-4

  Yerevan and Mount Ararat
Արարատ – Mount Ararat and Երևան – Yerevan

Biblically, perhaps second in importance only to Mount Sinai, though Mount Sinai is 2,285 meters in elevation, while Mount Ararat is 5,137 meters in elevation (prominence 3,611 m). The smaller peak to the viewer's left, Lesser Ararat, has a peak of 3,896 meters. In this photo, taken from the grounds of the Armenian Genocide Museum & Institute and with Yerevan in the foreground, the peak of Ararat is about 60 ground kilometers distant. Mount Ararat lies on territory controlled by the Muslim Turks, their reward for the Armenian Genocide and countless other atrocities against Christians. Slightly to the viewer's left of the peak of Lesser Ararat begins the territory of Iran. Armenia has a territory of 29,743 km². The present Muslim nation-states of Turkey, Iran and Azerbaijan have a combined territory which is 85 times larger, that is, of 2,520,000 km², indeed just a bit further to the viewer's right in this photograph begins the "Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan," territory disputed with Armenia, but pictured on nearly every map as Azerbaijani. Considering the real character of the United Nations, thinking people should not be surprised that no corresponding courtesy is afforded to the similarly-sized Արցախ–Artsakh, better known as Nagorno-Karabakh, and its nearly 145,000 Armenians. The combined populations of these three Muslim states surrounding Christian Armenia, that is, of Turkey, Iran and Azerbaijan, number about 165,500,000. As of the 2015 census, Armenia has 2,974,693 people, making this heroic people, holding this holy outpost of European Christendom, outnumbered by about 56 to 1.

The watched, oppressed Armenian remnant in Istanbul. Making the place Constantinople again would require displacing or converting 12,000,000 Muslims, while confronting the other 70,000,000 Turkish citizens on the other side of the Bosporus Striats. In other words, forget it for now.
